SPIRAEA X BUM GOLDFLAME
Grower Notes:
Spiraea x bumalda 'Goldflame' is commonly referred to as Goldflame Spirea. It is a upright mounding, deciduous, multi-stem shrub that features emerging bright orange-red foliage that transitions to gold and yellow-green in summer. In fall the leaves turn brilliant orange. Pinkish-red flowers appear midsummer and complement the ever-changing foliage and provide a treat for bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators.
Goldflame Spirea is deer resistant and thrives in full sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. Any pruning should be done in late winter or early spring once the threat of extreme cold has passed. It is ideal for foundations, borders and mass plantings.
